Cliff House, San Francisco

The Cliff House was severely damaged by a dynamite explosion when the schooner, Parallel, ran aground. The blast was heard a hundred miles away and demolished the entire north wing of the tavern. The building was repaired, but was later completely destroyed on Christmas night 1894 due to a defective flue. The Cliff House survived the 1906 earthquake with little damage but burned to the ground on the evening of September 7, 1907.

The house overlooks the site of the former Sutro Baths and a room-sized camera obscura and is now part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, operated by the National Park Service.

Above all this was a beautiful house. It feels like they build it "in the air", looks like a floating ghost above  the rocks and the sea. Also among others, old pictures is one of my passion. I don't know why i like them so much. Maybe cause they remind me of my past life? i don't know.. but is a kind of art for me, and a beautiful one.
