Death is always such a beautiful theme

Joel-Peter Witkin (born September 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York City) is an American photographer who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His work often deals with such themes as death, corpses (and sometimes dismembered portions thereof), and various outsiders such as dwarfs, transsexuals, hermaphrodites, and physically deformed people. Witkin's complex tableaux often recall religious episodes or famous classical paintings.

~ A different style of photography form the usual ones. You may found this disgusting or macabre but there is always a beauty in themes like these. I just love his work! Soon i will print some photos and make them a great collage or when i found some good frames to put them in!

  3. I like Witkin, even though looking at his art for too long makes me feel nauseous ;) The one with the two heads kissing was one of my favourites from an art book by him.
