Mirror, mirror, here I stand. Who is the fairest in the land?

Hello everyone <3

Oh my, we had the pleasure
to enjoy a gorgeous as always full moon
last Friday.
Did you guys had any special plans??

Keeping my skin protected with my favourite sun-care
products is a 365 thing for me. But when summer comes i level up the SPF!!
Korres Yoghurt SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Cream 50ml (1+1) in 8€,
Apivita Sunscreen Face & Body Milk SPF30 in 8€ and
Apivita suncare Antispot Face Cream SPF 50 which i got in a gift set
with a Hydrating & Cooling Face Mask with Sea Lavender for only 10€.

The only "good thing" about summer is the uncontrollable
sunshine that provides "food" to those beloved creatures. Flowers blossom like crazy,
growing up really fast.
But even them, especially during high temperatures, they
need a lot of care, water and shadow.

This is the last book i ordered during the past January sales.
It cost me around 4 euros only
and it's a very well presented book,
wrapped in lovely hardcover edition.
Beautiful with many illustrations inside to enjoy while reading.

Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales.

What can i say about it?
In one sentence it would be, fairytales for grown ups.
If you never read about the Grimm Brothers, Jacob (1785–1863) and
Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), they were German academics,
linguists, cultural researchers, lexicographers
and authors who together collected and published folklore.
You will enjoy the original, beautiful, cruel and gory fairytales
you already know from Disney. But better!!!

  3. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable heat you must have there in the middle of summer now that I think of it! :D We always went to Greece at the end of August/beginning of September and I couldn't even go outside for the most of the day:/
The book is so pretty and the illustrations are really lovely! I haven't read the Grimm's fairy tales yet, but I think I have heard that they are quite realistic, which I am looking forward to :D When I was a child I read 2 thick volumes of our national fairy tales, which are literally full of severed hands here, boiled people there, so I think I've developed a thing for cruel fairy tales :D:D

    1. It's awful and people think i overexaggerate :P Haha indeed, until October is summer here... If you ever have the chance to buy their complete works, go for it. They are amazing, realistic, cruel and as i said, fairy tales for grown up. Hahaha yes, every country has their own fairy tales and i adore the fact that most of them are horror like :D

  4. I love Grimm's Fairy Tales! I have a collection of their works in German and English. They are hilarious, witty, and occasionally a tad dark, which is lovely. I love folktales and fairy tales; I have multiple collections, such as Irish tales, Norwegian tales, and, as I told you about, Japanese ones. Ah, summer... How horrid! The only thing I enjoy about it is being able to leave my window open and feel the lovely zephyr and smell the night air, and listen to the crickets. Other than that, I despise the heat-- Though I am so very thankful that here, it is much cooler than usual for this time of year-- but we shall get through it! I hope you are well, my dear. <3

    1. Now now, why i am telling you to post about them in your page? That's why, because you have so many interesting books i want to see and stalk :D That sounds lovely, in here i open the window and major waves of heat coming through. Not to mention mosquitoes. Many things to wonder, why people even like summer is beyond me :P

  5. That's a beautiful edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales! Altough it's quiet funny to me as a German native speaker to read the English translation of well-known phrases like the post's title - originally it goes "Spieglein, Spieglein an der Wand, wer ist die Schönste im ganzen Land?", which means "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest in the whole country?" if you translate it directly.

    1. I can understand you completely. Having in general to translate something from it's original language, in the processes, it loses it's true meaning. It loses some words and then the whole point of the sentence doesn't make scene!! Many translators just sum up the story, mostly because some languages cannot be translated word by word. But the good thing is that i can read them - at least in English which is not of course my native language - because of those translations. And it's some kind of a win win situation ^-^
