Architecture 101 - Architecture aims at Eternity

For the summer i try not to use my heavy makeup routine, like i do in winter.
In that way i am letting my skin to breath! But i use sun protection like crazy!!!

Ok now a post about my uni! I read so many different books the past months for my exams but reading something so awesome like architecture and having books that you feel awful just to open them, trying not to "hurt" them, books filled up with pictures and designs, is a great feeling and a beautiful way to put a closer to my college exams.
A very, very difficult task to finish but it was a great challenge for me, even though i am not a big fun of the particular type of churches still was fascinating!

A personal favorite church with many influences from the Gothic type of churches in West - Panagia Parigoritissa, Arta, Greece

The best part.
Learning that here in Greece we have churches that their architect was affected from the western europe style and yes i am talking about the gothic type of churches, was a big surprise for me. No, don't expect the beautiful majestic cathedrals that you look in Spain, England or Italy, here he had the byzantine orthodox type and trust me is not majestic at all.

Through the past months i made some research in libraries to understand better the meaning of all the architecture words i needed to know and it was a fun trip! If you dont count the stress and the many hours of reading i will say i am really glad i have the chance to be in a college and learn so many things!

My love to all, stay strong if you are in school or in college or in work!
Life is still beautiful, remember that :)

  1. It´s amazing to see how connected is art through different countries. Those churches made me think immediately in some little ones that you can see all over Spain. We have great cathedrals (my city has one of the most important ones in all Europe) but little medieval romanic and gothic treassures as well.
I am very curious about this, are you studying history of art or something similar?

    1. You really do have the particular types of churches in Spain? I am a huge fan of the cathedral type in an church and of course you talking about La Sagrada Familia the first cathedral i saw in a documentary and made me love their architecture! No, i wished, i am studying theology and we have so man different lessons like architecture as you see, philosophy, history, ancient Greek, physiology, learning how to teach in a shool etc

    2. I was talking about Santiago de Compostela´s cathedral, indeed :)
La Sagrada Familia is very impressive but totally different from my city´s one. We also have lots of little Romanic churches, which are precious. They flourished in the north of the country, as long as in the south there was the muslim kingdom. I leave a few links with some examples of those artistic buildings but there are much more. Oh, and your degree looks really amazing and interesting! You must learn so many things!
